Olympus FL-50 Flash

The high-power FL-50 electronic flash was specially designed for digital cameras. Its various adjustable settings, high speed synchronisation and wide range of accessories make it a practical complement to the Olympus E-1. The FL-50 has GN28 at a 12mm focal length (equivalent to 22mm on a 35mm camera; 100 ISO) and NG50 at a 42mm focal length (equivalent to 85mm on a 35mm camera; 100 ISO).

- Normal synchronisation speed: 1/180 secs. But the FL-50 also has a new super FP mode for high-speed synchronisation at up to 1/4000 secs with the Olympus E-1.
- Flash coverage is automatically set to correspond to the framed zone. An in-built diffuser may be used for wide-angle coverage reaching 8mm (equivalent to 16mm for a 35mm camera).
- The flash includes an AF lamp that pushes the system’s range from 6 to 10 m.
Thanks to the Olympus E-1 digital reflex camera, you can vary the intensity of the flash in 1/31L increments while enjoying features like red eye reduction, slow sync and second curtain synchronisation. The power source options include a LB-01 lithium battery, ultra-powerful SHV-1 battery charger and an FP-1 battery grip.
