Its 3x optical zoom is complemented by its 6x digital zoom, which has an intelligent zoom function so that photo quality isn't affected.
The Optio S12 is suited to most shooting conditions, because it has 19 pre-installed scene modes to adapt to the scene in question. It also has a number of different exposure modes, such as backlighting and sunset.
Meanwhile, the camera's 2.5" LCD screen has an anti-reflective coating and a 160° viewing angle, so it's easy to see, even in full sunlight.
